Class 2 Blogging

In the second class  we learned about this website "Blogger" which allows you to develop your own blog sites. Again never having created a blog site before I found that this site made it very easy to create a blog. A blog site is a very interactive site in which you can share information with people and they can share new information with you. In a blog you can post your thoughts and feelings on various topics, insert gadgets, create links to other sites and movies. Gadgets are fun and interesting games or sites that the reader of your blog may find entertaining.

Blog sites allow teachers to explore new ways of conveying information to students by watching how other teachers have presented material in a lesson. Blogs allow students to access information for projects and view postings of other students findings and discoveries on similar material. Both teachers and students can be exposed to an array of new and innovative ways to share their ideas and accomplishments with each other through blogs. A blog is a great forum for students to post their thoughts and queries about a topic and allows teachers to create a controlled online discussion group. It allows teachers to respond to a students question about an assignment which other students can read and learn from as well. This blog site is an excellent example of how educators can use blogging to assist students with different learning disabilities such as Autism. It allows us to share and gain valuable teaching tools and in some cases may be the means by which we communicate with some of our non-verbal students.

These are a few websites that I have found that have links to many other excellent educational blog sites and which also look at the uses of blogging in education.
